Location to everything was fantastic. Unit was modern, brand new and very well fitted out. Handy having car parking facilities underneath.
It was a little bit unpleasant facing the back lane way.
Clean, comfort, nice bath room, full kitchen, washing machine... and excellent location.
Location and newness of decor.
The fact that the heating is centrally controlled and I have no way of turning up or down the radiator or the towel rail. If I had known this before arrival I would certainly not have booked since I was paying for heat in my bill. Have not had my heating centrally controlled since I was a student at university in a halls of residence. It is such a shame. I suffer from cramps and poor circulation so this one aspect of the provision was unsettling and made me feel ripped off. The room also smelled strongly of paint and had not been aired. The windows would only open by one inch so I could not air the room. Traffic outside extremely noisy.
This was a modern, clean and stylish apartment with full facilities, including dishwasher, microwave, flatscreen tv and a full set of cutlery and crockery. The apartment was very central in Edinburgh (very near Princes St) and was ideal for our trip to participate in the Edinburgh marathon, as it was located near the starting line. We were impressed with both the facilities in the apartment and the helpfulness of the staff, and the apartment was available at a reasonable price.
I have been working in Edinburgh for 12 weeks and had to stay in various hotels during that time (some better than others) however Fountain Court was fantastic, very well kitted out, spotlessly clean and comfortable. I hve booked it agin for my final week in the Scottish capital!
There wasn't anything that I didn't like...
Excellent location. Nicely furnished room.
No major complaints but it can be a bit noisy in the late evenings due to the restaurant or bar behind the building.
Nice and spacious, very clean, high level of privacy, good temperature, water consistently hot, kitchen well equipped.
No toilet brush in the toilet
Since it was an apartment, I like the space and the availability of cooking utensils and the rather comfortable sofa. Prices of accomodation in Edinburgh are rather expensive. The bathroom was good. Spacious, clean and equipped with a warm towel hanging rack. Great location, tucked behind the crowded town centre.
The sofa was more comfortable than the bed I felt. The safe was not working as there wasn't enough batteries. The remote control for the television was a little faulty but I rarely used those so the problems were fairly minor.
the facilities were excellent and the setting and space were perfect for relaxation. The large bed was big enough to lie side ways and the two ipod docking stations linked to the Blu-ray player and clock radio were very useful.
the wi-fi connection wasn't very quick and couldn't link to my iphone
location, walking distance from old and new city,
that you should pay for the parking,
The apartments were beautiful, furnished to a high standard and exceptionally clean and well maintained. Our apartment was well stocked with kitchen appliances and crockery, cutlery etc, enabling those on a tighter budget to cook for themselves if they preferred. The location could not have been better, very centrally located in the heart of Edinburgh and within a short walk of the main Princess Street in Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Playhouse was within a reasonable walking distance of roughly fifteen minutes, but a taxi would probably be best for those wearing high heels! My son and daughter-in-law also took an apartment with us and were also very impressed with the facilities. We would highly recommend these apartments to anyone looking to stay in Edinburgh, in fact we have already done so to our friends and family. Thank you for making our weekend fabulous.
The only criticism we would make has no real reflection on the apartments themselves. Unfortunately on the recommendation of the very lovely receptionist, we booked a table at a nearby restaurant, Gusto, we were advised that we would be offered preferential prices of 20% discount when we showed our accommodation keys. This does not apply on a Saturday evening and customers should be made aware of this. Nevertheless we went ahead with the booking but encountered further problems with the restaurant. My daughter-in-law and I ordered risotto, which when it arrived would not have filled a saucer (served in a huge plate). It looked more like a starter portion and we were very hungry, with no time to wait for another helping after complaining as we had tickets for the theatre. We do not like complaining and hate to do so, but the portions werve were so poor we had no choice. To their credit however the restaurant did take the price of both risotto's off the bill but I would rather have had a good meal and a reasonable portion instead.
Good location, 5 minutes walk to Princess street, 15 to Waverley station and Castle. 2 mins to bars and restaurants on Rose Street. Compact but very well designed apartment with all the equipment you could need. Comfy bed and tv in bedroom was a nice touch. Lovely spacious bathroom with bath and incredible power shower. Staff very helpful. We were able to book in two hours earlier than 3pm stated and left our luggage on day of departure and collected it later. Not cheap but compared to prices of travelodges and premier inns etc worth paying the extra for this apartment. Would recommend and will return.
Only potential problem is the noise from the cobbled road at the front of the building. Every car sounds like a mini express train going past. Not a busy road at night but what traffic there is could trouble light sleepers, even with the windows shut. You could ask for a room at the back and not be given one like us. However, after a day's hard shopping and an evening on the town we slept like babies!
Clean, close to city centre, spacious well equipped accommodtion
N/A everything was excellent.
We really liked these apartments. They are very clean, modern and well presented. We would definitely stay there again
There was a little bit of noise and cooking smell from the street below. Not a big deal, but we would probably ask to be put on the top floor next time
Clean, modern, friendly, fantastic location.
